Pancakes
Things are happening. Things are getting done. You may not think so on account of all of the time I've spent on Facebook, but some serious progress has been made by way of getting my house in order.
Huck's room has been completely rearranged and a spot has been reserved for Milo to move in once weening is complete.
Yes, you read that right. We're already getting serious about weening. It's funny how different things are the second time around.
Here's a picture of Huck's breakfast this morning:
I need a snack now.
3 blowing hot air:
Now I want pancakes in the shape of my name and I don't even like pancakes.
So this may be followed by a private email but just in case I get side tracked on my way to my gmail account, I was wondering what happens when you ween a child who still drinks milk? Do you just make the switch to formula or do they just eat solids and drink cow's milk?
I think the standard U.S. recommendation is to do breastmilk or formula until age 1. After that, if you decide to ween, it's solids and 4 oz. of whole milk (I use Horizon's organic, whole cow's milk with added DHA) until age 2. Then switch to 2%. But we all drink whole because I discovered that I like whole milk, even though I always thought I hated milk. It just turns out that I hate gross skim or fat free milk.
The World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding until at least age 2, though.
